How to Enter
How do I enter:
1. SUBMIT YOUR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
This is to confirm your intention to submit an application. Complete the on-line intention to submit form. At this stage you simply complete a few simple questions that check your eligibility and a brief 200 word summary of your idea or business. Entries can be at any stage of development, from concept to trading business, but must relate to cardiovascular disease or its risk factors. Entries are encouraged from physicians, surgeons, and entrepreneurial companies (SME’s). The Judges are particularly interested in treatments for unmet needs or novel diagnostic methods in coronary disease, hypertension, heart failure, peripheral vascular disease, and stroke prevention.
If you meet the eligibility criteria then you will be invited to submit a more detailed application, which is then considered by the Judges. The full application is similar to a structured business plan, so if you have a business plan there will be very little extra work to prepare. You will have until the 27th September 2012 to submit your full application.
2. PITCH
Shortlisted entrants will be invited to pitch their innovation to the expert Judges in a “Dragon’s Den” style. The panel is made up of leading clinical and commercial experts, as well as investors, active in the field of cardiovascular medicine. You will have 8 minutes to pitch the business followed by 20 minutes of Q&A. Presenters will be allowed to bring a maximum of three members of the team to the pitch. The pitching day will take place in Tel Aviv, alongside the Academy of Innovation educational symposium, at the ICI conference on Sunday 2nd December 2012. You will be given either a morning or afternoon slot and will be expected to be available.
3. CONNECT
The ICI Innovation Awards competition will be a prestigious element of the ICI Meeting. The top two selected finalists in the competition will be invited to present their innovation (or elements of the innovation that can be publicly disclosed) to the entire delegation on Tuesday 4th December for a public vote of the overall winner. Thereby the winner will be selected by expert panels and peer review, something that should significantly enhance your reputation and profile with investors.
4. MAKE YOUR IDEA HAPPEN
The ICI Innovation Award will be presented following the delegates vote at the closing ceremony of the ICI Meeting. The press shall interview winners shortly thereafter and have professional photographs taken for use in your business plan and future publicity. The winners will be invited to Galway, Ireland, to experience an innovation workshop experience with global devices experts, Medtronic Inc and its partner, innovations company, Medical Futures that has helped innovators in the past raise in excess of $250m.
